Meaalofa Rainbow + Competency Training

Nevertheless is proud to present our MEAALOFA Rainbow+ Competency Training. Mealofa is a free, 3-hour interactive workshop designed to build confidence, understanding, and practical skills when working with Rainbow+ communities.

Grounded in Māori and Pasifika values, this workshop goes beyond basic awareness — creating a safe, open space to explore identity, language, culture, and the real experiences of Rainbow+ people. Through storytelling, talanoa, and guided discussion, participants will unpack common myths, strengthen communication, and learn how to support individuals and whānau with care and respect.

This training is especially powerful for workplaces, community groups, churches, and whānau who want to deepen their understanding and create more inclusive, affirming environments. You’ll leave with practical tools, greater confidence, and a renewed perspective grounded in alofa, connection, and cultural understanding.

Participants can expect :

A safe, interactive space grounded in talanoa and shared learning

Understanding of Rainbow+ identities, language, and terminology

Exploration of Māori and Pasifika perspectives on gender and sexuality

Honest conversations that challenge myths and stereotypes

Practical tools to support Rainbow+ individuals, whānau, and communities

Real stories and lived experiences from Pasifika Rainbow+ voices

Delivered by experienced Pasifika Rainbow+ facilitators, MEAALOFA is more than a workshop — it’s a space to learn, reflect, and grow together.

This training is made possible and offered free to communities through the Le Va Pasifika Communities Suicide Prevention Fund.
