Afro Jazz Ensemble
The Afro Jazz Ensemble celebrates the meeting place between diverse African musics and their close relatives in the Americas—jazz, blues and gospel. Led by master musician Yaw Asumadu, a former key member of the Pan African Orchestra (Real World Records), the group draws on the unique melodies, rhythms and harmonies of his home country Ghana and beyond.
Joining him is a dynamic quartet drawn from his other projects: Paul Hoskin on drums, Ben McNicoll on saxophone, Tristan Hancock on guitar and Carlos Pla on bass.
The Afro Jazz Ensemble will have you out of your seat with irresistibly danceable grooves, while their interplay and improvisations will have you mesmerised and uplifted.
