“I moved here from Mount Maunganui. Once I got fully qualified in flying, I basically searched the entire country for my first flying job and the absolutely dream job became available at Volcanic Air, not only just fulltime flying but flying floats and the charters and scenics. It’s any pilot’s dream first gig.

“Probably four days in, I realised I knew no one, so I joined BFT and I was immediately welcomed in and I was supported, all of a sudden I have 10 best friends here. It’s been amazing.

“Nature has to be up there as one of my highlights – community and nature. I am a big introvert but it’s so easy to park up and find a spot to read a book and recharge.”
