I Am Rotorua – Linda Joy
I Am Rotorua Charity and Community

Linda Joy’s name suits her. She’s friendly with a ready smile and the most gorgeous and styley purple hair. She’s the perfect shopkeeper for St Luke’s Opportunity Shop.
“It’s a small shop, nothing fancy, but there’s something special about it,” she says. “We get all sorts of people coming through – some looking for a bargain, others just wanting a chat. I love hearing their stories. Sometimes they find things here they didn’t even know they needed, and it’s like a little piece of serendipity.
“It’s not just about selling clothes or knick-knacks – it’s about being part of a community, offering a warm smile and a moment to connect. I think that’s why I keep coming back.”
