Ngā Taonga o Kōanga | Treasures of Spring

Step into a celebration of renewal, growth, and the deep connections we share with the whenua.

Ngā Taonga o Kōanga invites you to experience the beauty and stories held within the materials of Aotearoa.

Artist Jane Johnson-Matua creates works using uku (wild clay) respectfully gathered from the whenua of local iwi, and handmade harakeke paper—each carrying traces of place, whakapapa, and resilience.

Through texture, form, and transformation, these artworks reflect the rhythms of kōanga—the season of awakening, regeneration, and new beginnings.

Come and discover the treasures of spring, where whenua, culture, and creativity come together.
